The road to being a boxer in the Netherlands is a difficult one because an amateur doesn’t get paid, and the proboxing scene isn’t much alive either Your opponent from abroad however does get paid and has all the means he needs to focus on his boxing career. At some point you will have to choose whether you will pursue a boxing career or quit boxing altogether and find some other path to follow. Personally, I am very inspired by the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, and various books and movies like ‘the secret’ and ‘what the bleep do we know’. After reading the books and seeing the movies I was inspired to go for my dreams, instead go through life as a victim of circumstances and choose the easy road by saying There are no oppurtinities for me in Holland and quit boxing. im inspired to try to be the director of my own life. I decided to go for my dreams and try to overcome all the things that push me into the ‘normal’ 9 to 5 settings. In order to do this and to find my way as a boxer in the Netherlands I had to ‘be above it’. This phrase now motivates me and reminds me of my spiritual power. It gives me the strength and the believe not to give up but to get up and train every day , and keep trying to find my way as a professional boxer and become world champion
